An Evening Of Chariot Racing And Jackhammerin'

Evening boys, I got a little somethang for all you fellas. "wink, nudge and pout"

Nope seriously the title is in reference to a time when I was forwarded a link to Hardcell *NSFW*. I was under the presumption that I was looking for a mix by Hardcell on his personal site. I was wrong, very wrong.

The tune is just a bit of a work in progress, the name comes from two of the most disgusting descriptions on the wrong Hardcell site.

So, have a listen and tell me what you think. Can you guess the sample in the little breakdown bit?

Jake...

Inigo Kennedy & Asymmetric Records

Inigo Kennedy is a London based Techno producer and DJ. You can read a very in depth Bio here. Inigo runs Asymmetric Records. Asymmetric Records is a vinyl label as well as a net label. The vinyl side came first and then the mp3 side launched in January 2004.

I stumbled upon the audio archive the other day. (I need to have a chat with that early bird, get some tips.)

There is all sorts available on the link below, "Proper" Techno, Spacey stuff, Glitchy stuff and its all top notch.

Asymmetric.co.uk

Get every single mp3 off that page. My personal favourite being, Delicate II.

There are many people who use the whole net label thing because they actually have something of a good standard. A lot of the time net label music probably wasn't good enough for a real label in the first place. Inigio Kennedy's music is definitely something I'd pay for in a shop.

Makeshift @ Lord Lucan's, Birmingham, Saturday 26th September 2009

I'm DJing this Saturday at a great little Techno night called Makeshift. I met the Makeshift lads a couple of weeks back at their last event. They let me jump on the decks and wound up being a new resident. Sweet.

They have booked Chris Finke as the main man. Chris Finke is resident of legendary Birmingham Techno night Atomic Jam. He is also bloody sharp with the decks too.

The venue is a new/old one, Lord Lucan's. Formerly a German Bier Keller, it has now been converted into a very nice club space. The main room is basically a black warehouse and at the back of that a small flight of stairs take you down to second room with a nice low ceiling.

Without the material of its former life, the place now resembles a bunker or foundry or den or.... It's free entry before 10:30pm and only £3 after, plus the drinks are cheap too.

Need I say more?

Line up and other details....

Jake Conlon - Groke 2

Groke 2 you may have already presumed is the follow up to Groke 1. You are correct, you have not heard Groke 1 as I cant find the mixdown. Groke 1 is an 140 BPM spacy loopy Techno bit. Straight from the imaginary disc 2 of Jeff Mills' Metropolis.

Groke 2 is from the other side of the spectrum. Slower, lighter and nicer on the ears.

Check it out, if you like it, email and tell me!

Nearly a knock out blow aka fuck the Fuck Buttons Remix.

This blog has been in a state of comatose, due to a copyright notice I received regarding my remix of Fever Ray - If I Had A Heart. The buggers deleted the post and any other reference to it within the other posts. I simply couldn't be bothered anymore after that.

But alas, I couldn't simply let it just fade away before it even started!

Soooooo.....

Hi! Here is that remix, a little stale now! I'll upload some new stuff within the coming weeks.

The Bee - House Fantastic (SR027)

This is a nice four track Techno EP which has been released on Hungarian net label Survival Records.

My personal favourite of the four is Dreamworld. The track is full of high blips and wops and the low end is filled with a throbbing bass and a nice clear kick.

You should definitely have a cop. Its free!
